We do recommend Lucca because that means living in the past. Although the town was originally a Roman camp, Lucca still has its Middle Ages flair. Starting from Via Fillungo where you find the Caffe di Simo where Puccini used to have a coffee break. There are lots of Medieval buildings, lots of them called tower houses. Many churces built across 11th 13th :Cathedral of Saint Martino with its façade in Pisan Romanesque style (inside there are two of the monuments dearest to the heart of the Lucchesi the Volto Santo and Jacopo della Quercia’s masterpiece Tomb of Italia del Carretto), San Frediano, S. Michele.If you love wine, food and good olive oil there are lot of good restaurants.
