Villa Manzara stands well back from the quiet access road in a walled orchard-garden. It is not part of an estate, but a modern (2002) individual property close to the village centre with its shops, cafes and restaurants and only 2km from the beach. It has a large parking/turning area at the front, with terraces front and rear and a private pool adjoining the latter. There are superb views over the sea and up to the mountains. All accommmodation is on one level just two steps up from the parking area. A furnished roof terrace with BBQ gives further great views.
Accommodation Summary : There are three large bedrooms, sleeping up to six people; double with ensuite bathroom/WC, extensive wardrobes and drawers, hair-dryer; twin with similar furniture and third study/bedroom with double put-u-up. The double and twin rooms have A/C, the third an electric fan. There is a separate large shower room/WC.
The large kitchen is very well equipped with fridge-freezer, gas hob, extractor hood, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, electric kettle and toaster, juicer, iron and board, full dining service and cutlery.

The property is ideal for children as the pool is not deep and is close to the rear terrace and kitchen.
It is also suitable for those with mobility difficulties as it is all on one level apart from the two steps up to the front porch.
The village shops, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance, as is the local minibus service to Kyrenia.

What's special about North Cyprus? A taste of the orient in a largely English-speaking country that drives on the left. Perhaps the most picturesque harbour in the mediterranean - Kyrenia (Girne).
There are some of the best preserved Graeco-Roman sites in the Mediterranean in North Cyprus, especially Salamis. Also amazing crusader castles on mountain peaks, cathedrals now converted to mosques, remote monasteries, turtle-nesting beaches and wild donkeys on the Karpas peninsula. Nicosia is now the only divided city in the world - walk through the Green line and see life on the other side.
It's easy to find a perfect sandy beach all to yourself or to hike in the mountains all day and not see another soul.
Cuisine Turkish cooking is rated the third best in the world and it has a strong influence here. Almost all restaurants will offer a great choice of fresh fish, as well as lamb and chicken dishes. Local yoghurt (often made from sheep's milk) is delicious, as are the local pastries both savoury and sweet. If you choose a menu with full meze make sure you're hungry. The wines from Turkey, especially Angora and Kavaklidere, are reliably good, as is the local Efes beer.
Getting around If you want to see some of the more remote sites and beaches you'll need to hire a car; rates are reasonable, about £15 per day for a medium size car with A/C. If you hire a car from the same company that collects you from either Ercan or Larnaca airports they will reduce the price of the transfers.
Otherwise take the local dolmus (minibus) service to Kyrenia, or anywhere in between, where you can pick up other bus services to other towns and villages. The price for a single journey between Lapta and Kyrenia is about £1.50
