The reservoirs and the unique open moorlands of the Elan Valley are just a few miles away and are a joy to explore on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by car. The lovely country towns of Rhayader, Llanidloes, Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells, Presteigne, Knighton (on Offa's Dyke) and Hay-on-Wye all have very different characters and are all well worth a leisurely explore. Most Saturdays throughout the summer there will be a local village show, sheep dog trails or trotting races to experience as well.
