About the Village of Grimalda
Grimalda is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sights in central Istria located on a 447 meters high hill. It is mentioned for the first time in 1202. and the settlement existed even in prehistoric times. Thanks to the climate, the area around Grimalda has excellent conditions for the cultivation of grapes and olives, and consequently, the locals are known as being excellent wine makers and olive producers. It is the perfect peaceful romantic retreat... yet the entire Istria peninsula with towns like Pula and Rovinj is within a short drive on excellent roads. Small hilltop medieval settlements and towns like Motovun are doted all around. Excellent and very good value restaurants are found in every direction. A day trip with our day cruiser yacht, a boat trip to Venice, or a day trip to national parks like Brioni or Plitvice and a visit to the Postojna caves are always a good idea. Villa Grimalda is a premium, tranquil home to a land of beauty, history and clean, unspoiled nature.
