41 Prestonfield Avenue is an attractive broad avenue with well-maintained gardens and some mature trees. It is a quiet neighbourhood. There is ample free parking either on the road adjacent to the front garden or in a small parking area across the road. The apartment benefits from second (top) storey views of nearby Arthur's seat and more distant views of the Pentland hills. The apartment is accessed by two flights of well-lit stairs.
The closest attractions are Arthur's Seat, Craigmillar Castle and Prestonfield golf course. Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace are about a twenty minute walk. Alternatively, there are regular local buses to either the city centre or the outlying, coastal Musselborough. There are nearby shops for basic provisions and an excellent Chinese takeaway. The nearest supermarket and shopping centre is a ten minute walk.

Edinburgh is considered one of the most picturesque cities in Europe, due to its spectacular location and wonderful mixture of Medieval and Georgian architecture. Both the "old" and the "new" town areas are listed as UNESCO world heritage sites.

Edinburgh is the cultural heart of Scotland. Throughout August the city transforms into a centre of festivities; most famously playing host to the Edinburgh Fringe, Military Tattoo, Edinburgh International festival and the International Book festival.
 
Reccomended attractions
Edinburgh has a great variety of historical attractions. The National Museum of Scotland showcases a wealth of treasures and heritage; from the remarkable preserved depths of the pre-historic, to Dolly the cloned sheep. There are a huge range of other museums, art galleries (including the National Gallery of Scotland) and historic buildings; notably Edinburgh castle and St. Giles Cathedral.

Edinburgh Dungeons, the Camera Obsecura, Edinburgh Vaults (the underground city), the Prince's Street shopping experience, numerous public gardens including the Edinburgh Botanical gardens.

The city is surrounded by small hills, including Arthur's seat in the heart of the city. The larger Pentland hills, visible from the apartment are close by.

There are numerous theatres, cinemas, there are Scottish football and rugby stadiums within the ci and a vibrant night life.

Edinburgh zoo, a pioneer in penguin breeding, cares for a huge variety of creatures and has fantastic views across the city.
 
Places to eat
The Kitchin was named best restaurant in Scotland and 2nd in Eat Out magazines the UK's top 100 restaurants.

In August 2007 the Scotsman newspaper placed the Edinburgh Mosque Kitchen the highest on their list of best festival food.

The Kebab Mahal recently won the Scottish curry Awards.

The Witchery, by the Castle is internationally celebrated.

Why is Lupain Holiday Rentals the only holiday rental company to verify the ownership of holiday accommodation? Research has shown that not all advertisers are genuine. There have been cases where people have booked holiday accommodation only to find out it does not exist.

This sort of ‘scam’ is hard to comprehend but these days fraudsters are coming up with ever more imaginative ways of obtaining money by deception from innocent people like you. We do not want holidaymakers who book with us to fall victim to this type of scheme. Money is mostly hard earned we know, so taking a holiday is usually a major expense. In addition, we do not want you to remember us for a shattered dream.

Therefore, in order to protect you we have introduced our Owner Verification Scheme. We ask all holiday home advertisers to submit proof that they own the property they are advertising. Only when we are satisfied that an advertiser and their property is genuine do we add our Green Shield to their property advert. Apart from being a deterrent, it also encourages advertisers to make sure they verify their property, giving you peace of mind when you make your booking.

If you want to make a booking look for the Green Shield on the top right of the property advert, if you do not see our Green Shield it may mean we have not yet completed the verification process. We normally complete this process within a few days if no verification is forthcoming the advert is removed.
