Sopra il Lago is a beautiful 3 bedroomed contemporary, well furnished apartment on the Eastern banks of Lago Maggiore with stunning 180 degree views of the lake and a large terrace and hot tub from which to enjoy the views. The terrace is well equipped with luxurious seating and loungers on which to spend lazy days in the sun. There is also a BBQ for outdoor dining. The apartment is situated on a hillside within walking distance of the centre of the sought after village of Brezzo di Bedero. It is a perfect spot for exploring all that Lake Maggiore has to offer. Boats leave regularly from the nearby town of Luino taking you to all the other attractions on the lake and the Swiss border and Swiss towns of Lugano and Locarno are only a short drive away. It is also only an hours train ride from Milan whilst the other lakes - Como, Orta and Garda are also easily accessible.

The property has an extremely large and spacious teak decked terrace going round 3 sides of the property with absolutely stunning 180 degree views of the lake. The terrace catches the sun all day long and is well equipped with luxurious loungers, table and chairs. There is also a BBQ for your use.
Linen, towels, central heating, use of hot tub and wireless internet are all included in the price. There is an additional charge of 100 euros for cleaning.
Places of Interest
The apartment is perfectly situated for visiting the many towns around the lake. Well worth a visit is Luino (the town boasts the biggest weekly market in Europe every Wednesday), Cannobio, Cannero, Stresa and Arona. Don't miss the Borromeo Islands either. If you want to explore a bit further afield, the Italian city of Como is just 45 minutes away. Lake Como enjoys its own lakeside ferry and features the gorgeous towns of Bellagio and Varenna. Or you could head in the opposite direction and visit Lake Orta. Alternatively, a 60 minute train from Luino takes you to Milan city centre. The city is famous for shopping and fashion. It's a short metro train ride from there to Santa Maria delle Grazie and Leonardo da Vinci's painting of 'The Last Supper.' You are also very near the Swiss border and the beautiful Swiss cities of Lugano and Locarno. Both boast wonderful lidos. Also in Switzerland is Valle Verzasca which features in the opening sequence of Goldeneye...a simply stunning spot.
Recommended bars and restaurants
There is a pizzeria in Brezzo di Bedero - Il Cortiletto. This is within walking distance of the apartment. Luino itself has a large selection of bars and restaurants. Bars offer free antipasti between 6 and 9 which is a tradition in this area. Restaurants which come highly recommended include La Vecchia Pesa (Luino), Hotel Camin (Luino), Quiviccino (Poppino), AVG (Portovaltraglia) and La Gabella (Maccagno).
Information on sports and activities
If hiking is your cup of tea, then Val Veddasca is ideal. Val Veddesca includes the Passo della Forcora (m 1179), where the scenery and nature is fabulous. Most of the nearby mountains also have tracks for mountain bikes. Bike rental is available in nearby Germignaga.
For those interested in skiing, there is a practice run with a button lift at La Forcora, 20 minutes away. 1 hour away there are the slopes at Mottarone and 1 hour 30 mins away the well known Swiss ski resorts of Airolo and St Bernadino.
And for the golf enthusiast, there are 6 good courses within a range of 40 km. More details can be found at www.agolfingexperience.com.
There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy various watersports on the lake from diving to canoeing to sailing. And there are some amazing lidos (e.g. Lugano and Locarno) with fantastic pools for either fun or some serious swimming.
