* 1 living room offering 2-seat sofa, 2 armchairs, table, reading lamps; 15� colour TV, DVD player; 1 Sony radio and CD player with MP3 and USB entry. Playing cards, game boards, lending library books, magazines and guides to Lisbon. Unlimited, free WIFI internet connection.
* Kitchen /dining area: fully equipped kitchen, seats four. Fridge and mini freezer; gas stove and oven; microwave; filter coffee machine; electric kettle; toaster; food blender; crockery and silverware for four people; children�s plates, glasses, cutlery and bowls; dishcloths; children�s bibs.
* 1 bathroom: bathtub with adjustable wall shower, WC, sink, towel rail, magnifying shaving mirror, hairdryer, rubber bath mat.
* Available on request: childrens high chair and cot (with linen);
* House linen: Each bed has sheet, pillow, and choice of light summer or winter duvet;

* Safety: the flat has a fire extinguisher, fire blanket, smoke detector, first aid kit and clearly placed emergency numbers. The owners live 50 metres away and may be contacted if necessary;
* The flat is on a second floor with no elevator;
* Traffic restrictions: the flat is located within a car-restricted area where only taxis and residents' cars are allowed to park. Cars may enter for up to 30 minutes at no charge, for loading and unloading. There is a public covered car park just outside the restricted area
* Discounts for long stays:
7 nights or more -> 10% discount
14 nights or more -> 15% discount
Additional Information :
* Prices are per property for 2 adults only. Add 16 per extra adult per night in low season, or 18 in high season (max. capacity: 4 adults).
* Rates include change of linen once a week.
Cleaning is NOT included. Please leave appartment in reasonable condition or an extra cleaning fee of 50 will be charged.
There are no additional fees for utilities, Internet, taxes, etc.

Public transport
* Bus: 37 - every 10 minutes on weekdays, every 15-30 minutes on weekends (get off at the last stop "Castelo");
* Tramway: 12 and 28 - every 10-12 minutes on weekdays, every 20-25 minutes on weekends (get off at the "Miradouro de Santa Luzia" stop, and then 5 minute walk uphill to the "Castelo");
* Subway: Linha verde / Green line - every 4-5 minutes (get off at the "Rossio/Praça da Figueira" station, and then take 37 bus from "Praça da Figueira" to "Castelo" - 8 minute bus ride);
* Taxis: plentiful and relatively cheap in Lisbon. On weekdays, during daytime: from the airport, allow for about 20 minutes and 10 fare; from the "Parque das Nações" railway station, some 15 minutes and 8 fare; from "Santa Apolónia" railway station, under 10 minutes and 5 fare; and from downtown Lisbon, under 10 minutes and up to 8 fare. Although the "Castelo de São Jorge" is an historical area, with restricted access for cars, taxis are allowed in and can drive up to the house.
Castelo neighbourhood
Castelo de São Jorge is a landmark in Lisbon - a stunning, renovated, yet authentic ensemble of houses, shops and narrow streets. One of Lisbons most ancient neighbourhoods, the Castelo de São Jorge is synonymous with Portugals fight against the Moorish invaders, which led to their repulsion, and to Portugals first king Dom Afonso Henriques.
Make no mistake you are IN the Castelo de São Jorge actually within its impressive thick stone walls, together with a handful of privileged inhabitants and visitors. Just 6 streets and the Church square make up this unique car-restricted neighbourhood (only taxis and residents' cars), where time seems to have stood still. Everyone knows everyone else, neighbours greet each other across the street, as they hang out the washing.
Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo
This charming street, boasts a few small but charming and affordable shops go to Elvira or Nuchas for the best buys; a true Drogaria which sells everything and anything; two friendly cafés to jump start your day Sr. Daniel is an institution - and a bijou of a Wine & Gourmet meals café-restaurant-Fado haunt, to wind up your afternoon. The owner, Isabel Quadros, is a bohemian chic artist herself, and sister of throaty-voiced Maria João Quadros, one of Lisbons best known Fado singers. Here, she holds impromptu and highly successful fado afternoons or evenings, where old and young, fado lovers and stray tourists mingle, for an inimitable and truly Portuguese experience. The Igreja de Santa Cruz church is a simple, yet moving, church, open on Saturdays at 18:00 for Mass. Throughout the year, a number of processions wind their way through the neighbourhood. Join them!

What did you not like: The following would make a difference with little effort on the part of the owners:
Sufficient supply of toilet paper, bar soap and paper towel for the first 2-3 days would be welcome (There was only one roll of toilet paper, a small bar of soap, and no paper towel).
The shower curtain is too short for the perimeter of the tub.
A few basic spices, sugar and condiments which one does not buy for a week's stay would be great.

Top-notch housing. Unfassbare Location; die traumhafte Lage direkt am Castel wird in der Beschreibung überhaupt nicht genug hervorgehoben. Wer authentisch im Herzen des historischen Lissabon wohnen möchte und minimale Unannehmlichkeiten wie die beiden steilen Schlussanstiege von der Straßenbahnhaltestelle (die rumpelnde Fahrt hinauf nach Castelo: jeden Tag wieder ein Genuss) in Kauf nimmt - hier wird er belohnt. Wo sonst sieht man morgens Pfaue durch die Gasse vor dem Haus spazieren?! Unsere dreijährige Tochter war begeistert, wir nicht minder. Diese Wohnung hat nicht nur Gesicht, sie hat Seele. Liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, dazu auf Stand der Technik (kostenloses WiFi), abgerundet durch 1a-Service des überragend freundlichen Vermieterpaares. Wir kommen zurück nach Lissabon - und zwar genau in diese Wohnung.
