The prices above are for 3 persons. The House sleeps 4.

A 4th person must pay a supplement of 7 euros per night extra.

Deposit: a deposit of 30% of the total rental price must be made within 5 days to secure a booking and the balance must be paid 6 weeks before check-in at the accommodation.

Bookings made within less than 6 weeks of check-in: when a booking is made within less than 6 weeks before check-in, the total payment is required within 5 days and it is non-refundable.

Payment is in Euros by bank to bank transfer to a Portuguese account.

Communication of cancellation: clients wishing to cancel must communicate this in writing immediately to the managers of the property.

Check-in: from 3pm.
Check-out: latest 10am

Hire car or not? We recommend a hire car and to collect when you arrive at the airport. But, some of our clients do not want a hire-car for the whole holiday or to drive.

Airport Transfers: one solution is we can arrange airport transfers with a professional driver who has a fixed reasonable fee.
 
Faja da Ovelha
Calheta is raw, beautiful, natural scenery including:
dramatic coastlines, soaring mountain ranges, waterfalls, craggy valleys and beautiful forests and flora including eucalyptus and laurel trees
The south west coast is far less populated than the more populated built up east coast, and during summer a far more pleasant climate than the wetter and colder north.
Contrary to popular perception, Madeira can be rainy and windy with occasional fog during the winter months – there is a reason why the Island is so verdant!
Bird watching: is good with owls, buzzards and other birds of prey easy to observe and rare marine birds including the Cagarra- the Cory Shearwater.
Calheta region has the most forest in Madeira and includes UNESCO protected ancient Laurisilva forest. Also, Faja da Ovelha is a base for visiting the nature and offcial walks including:
-Rabacal including ‘25 Fontes’ and ‘Risco’ waterfalls
-Paul da Serra
-Levada Nova
Calheta Town is approximately 15 minutes drive away with FR

In Paul do Mar a historic picturesque fishing village 4 kilometres away there is a mini market, restaurants, cafes, bars, a bank and more including free swimming areas.

In Calheta town (15 minutes drive away) is a marina where dolphin whale watching big game fishing boats operate from Calheta, free white sand beaches, international art centre Casa Das Mudas which stages performances & exhibitions small shopping centres and a supermarket. the village is well located and connected by the new fast roads. From Ribeira Brava there's easy access to the north.

This is our last evening in here..but as we did on all the previous evenings we are having a good cup of tea made from the herbs in your graden!

For future clients a good place to eat is ‘Precicipio Restaurant’ with fantastic food and cakes

We stayed at the House for a week. We enjoyed listening in the house to the waves lapping on the beach and sitting on the balconies on the garden with a chilled glass of Portuguese wine watching the famous Paul do Mar sunsets. The bars and the Hotel Restaurant were convenient when we did not want to cook and wanted to go out for a stroll and a coffee or ice cream!

Still not spoilt by large tourism Paul do Mar is still an authentic Portuguese village!

Recommended.

Only when we are satisfied that an advertiser and their property is genuine do we add our Green Shield to their property advert. Apart from being a deterrent, it also encourages advertisers to make sure they verify their property, giving you peace of mind when you make your booking.

If you want to make a booking look for the Green Shield on the top right of the property advert, if you do not see our Green Shield it may mean we have not yet completed the verification process. We normally complete this process within a few days if no verification is forthcoming the advert is removed.
