La Majada Alta is situated within a National Park, and stands in several thousand square metres of private grounds in an exceptionally beautiful area of mountains and lakes. The cottage is ideal for those who will enjoy the relaxing sounds of goat bells or the call of the eagle owl or the sight of eagles drifting overhead. This is also an ideal base for the more active visitor who will find satisfaction from the beautiful walks, the lakes, the white villages, the famous gorge at El Chorro, or the fantastic limestone formations at El Torcal.
Accommodation Summary :
The private swimming pool measures 8x4m and is maintained for you. There is plenty of sunbathing space and a shady drinks terrace. Sun loungers and shades are provided. There is another south facing terrace leading from the lounge and a further terrace near the north entrance
The yard thick stone walls and antique hand made roof tiles, and electric fans keep the cottage at a very even, comfortable temperature in summer and for winter we have a log burning stove, fireplace, gas and electric heaters
A 25% deposit secures your booking, with the balance payable by bank transfer in Euros 10 weeks before you go. We aim to have the cottage ready for you by 3pm and we ask you to please be ready to depart by 11am.
Our usual arrivals day is Saturday although we can be flexible in the quieter winter months

The Shops
The yard thick stone walls and antique hand made roof tiles, and electric fans keep the cottage at The nearest village is El Valle de Abdalajis at 7km where there are fishmongers, butchers, bakers, supermarkets, an ice-cream and pizza parlour, take away chicken, bars and a few restaurants. The street market is on Thursday
mornings. There is also a Doctor, chemist and banks with cash machines. There is a very good restaurant less than 15 mins walk from the cottage and more bars in El Chorro at 10 mins drive.
Things to do
The beach resorts of Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Marbella (Costa del Sol) are around 1½ hour drive from the cottage. The Atlantic beaches of Tarifa are approx 3 hours.
Antequera Golf is 30km or 40 minutes drive. Alhaurin Golf is 45km or 50 minutes drive
The ski resort of Sol y Nieve in the Sierrs Nevada mountains in Granada is open from Christmas until the end of April. The lift system is fast and modern with gondolas and 4 man chairs and skiing is up to 3000m with varied runs and a possible 1000m descent. You can be on piste in less than 3 hours from the cottage.

If you want to make a booking look for the Green Shield on the top right of the property advert, if you do not see our Green Shield it may mean we have not yet completed the verification process. We normally complete this process within a few days if no verification is forthcoming the advert is removed.
