Places to Go
Ostuni: 8km from TRULLO BELLISSIMO, is one of the most stunning cities in southern Italy famous for the dazzling effect of its whitewashed houses. It is a genuine and charming example of Mediterranean architecture. The city of Ostuni is a series of levels, staircases, small roads, alleys and arches. Hints of the Middle Ages are at hand in every corner, in every view to the sea, in the portal of a palace, in the walls of a convent or the front of a church. The view of the sea from the old city walls is breathtaking-you can almost imagine the brightly coloured boats of the Saracen sailing over the horizen!
Cisternino: 15km from TRULLO BELLISSIMO, is surrounded by fertile fields of olive groves and vineyards, some of the most abundant in Puglia. The old historic centre is characterised by architecture of the 16th and 17th centuries. To visit: there is the tower of Palazzo Amati, the church and crypt of St Nicola of Bari, the church of St Cataldo, the church of St Quirico and much more.
Puglian Food
What to say about the food in Puglia, apart from the fact that it is fabulous. We cannot begin to number the osteria, and tavola calda that have filled our tummies over the years in the local area to TRULLO BELLISSIMO. Pugliese dishes will astonish you, and you won't be able to resist their unique, fresh and genuine flavours, because in Puglia there's a deep-rooted culinary tradition, composed mostly of simple dishes, made with local products.

Hard to Match:
We have been in properties like this one, secluded, with lots of privacy and very classy, however this one really checks all the boxes. Magnificent and well thought out renovation, cosy and very well equipped interior. Excellent outdoor facilities.
If you are looking for the perfect beach you may want to explore some of the smaller coves and bays between Taranto and Santa Maria de Leuca along the Ionian coast. A bit further out but worth the trip for the crystal clear water.
The only minor disappointment, that has nothing to do with the property, is the poor Italian awareness for pristine ecosystems. I believe tourist like us may help change the local attitude towards the environment.

A High Quality Trulli:
We were very pleased indeed with the property. The external space is particularly well appointed with great landscaping, and the views across the olive groves are memorable.
The quality of the interior, including the kitchen/bathrooms is very high, and the re-furb has been done in very good taste. We would recommend it, and will stay there again on a future trip to Puglia.

The Perfect Puglian Experience:
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Trullo Bellissimo (June 2010). We fell in love with the pictures of Trullo Bellissimo on its website, and were thrilled to find that, in person, it is just as beautiful. It provides very thoughtful, comfortable accommodation (perfect for two couples, as we were). We loved the moroccan themed decor, the well equipped kitchen and the gorgeous outdoor areas. The location was also perfect - close enough to some great towns and shops, and yet remote enough that we could really relax. However, more than anything it is the little, thoughtful touches that really make Trullo Bellissimo (everything from the herb garden, to the welcome bottle of wine, olive oil and other basic provisions) and elevate it from just another luxury villa to something really special. We will definitely return for one of our next Italian holidays!

Trullo Bellissimo is Trully Beautiful:
If romance, privacy and relaxation are your thing, this is the place. Throughout our holiday experience was exceptional. There were no limits to the owners' generosity and thoughtfulness in ensuring that our requirements and expectations were exceeded in every regard. The locally based support team (Ali and Jane) should also be commended for doing all they can to make us feel welcome and ensure our stay was of the highest possible standard.
Set down a country track in a rural area outside Ostuni TB is extremely peaceful with no passing trade to detract from the atmosphere. The only problem we had was trying to pull ourselves away from the pool / outside area to explore Ostuni and the surrounding area.
Internally TB is well appointed and exceptionally clean throughout. The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms are very nicely decorated creating a homely and comfortable environment akin to any boutique hotel (without the medalling concierge). We stayed in the four poster room and found the bed extremely comfortable. There is also plenty of storage and cupboard space. With the addition of the Arabic Room and the other lounge / sitting areas you cannot fail to find the perfect spot to unwind.
The kitchen area was very clean and had everything required to support the main gastronomic production area (the BBQ terrace outside) If the weather allows you'll no doubt find that you do most of your cooking out here sipping your favourite tipple as the sun sets in the distance. Being able to use any of the provisions in the cupboards and fridge/freezer really makes you feel at home. We also helped ourselves to a few strawberries from the garden which were delicious and again creates the feeling that the place is yours (if only for 1 week alas).
Car hire is essential for the recommended visit to Ostuni old town and Cisternino. We suggest sticking to the 'Centro Storico' in Ostuni. To our mind Cisternino is more the atypical sleepy, Puglian hill town. Bar Fod is a good spot for breakfast (the pastries are made by the owners mum!) There is a great English speaking taxi service provided by Angelo/Romeo (details in the guest book) if you want to enjoy a drink. There are plenty of great restaurants in both towns but recommend Il Frantoio in Ostuni oldtown for an authentic experience.
We avoided the natives' beaches and would recommend Torre Guaceto if you want to find that quiet, white sandy beach with turquoise sea.
A great place we can't wait to return to soon.

Two blazing sunny weeks - great area for wining and dining, fascinating hill towns, especially Matera - Ostuni is lovely, lively and friendly - Osteria del Tempo Perso (cave restaurant) is a must! Trullo Bellissimo lives up to its name - situated in quiet and pretty surroundings, but only l0 mins drive max to Ostuni. The villa is beautifully furnished and comfortable, and the outside areas are a pleasure to relax in. The pool was spacious and much used during this time. We shall be returning in the future.

Go to Trullo Bellissimo!
My husband, 15 year old daughter, her friend and I had a wonderful holiday at Trullo Bellissimo. The quality throughout the property, both inside and outside, is first class. Everything has been thought of by Moira and Keith, the owners, who were extremely helpful both before and during our stay. The well-equipped kitchen, sitting/dining room, bedrooms and two shower rooms are all beautifully designed and well laid out and the thick walls kept the inside cool (in July), along with the ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The linen and towels provided are top quality. The two shady terraces, spacious dining area, BBQ, garden and swimming pool are well landscaped and extremely attractive, with ample, comfortable poolside and garden furniture: attention to detail is evident throughout. The owners invited us to pick the fruit, vegetables and herbs growing in the garden - delicious! The property is well situated for visits to a number of hill towns, markets and restaurants and within easy reach of many lovely beaches and coves.
Trullo Bellissimo is a very special place. We hope to return!

Fantastic little Italian Secret!!!!!!!
We had a fantastic time at Trullo Bellissimo when we visited in September 2009. The facilities at the trullo are excellent and Moira had done everything possible to make our stay a great one.
Chilled out most evenings either on one of the terraces, BBQing over an Olive wood fire (wood supplied from the surrounding grove) , or in the comfort of the lounge under the wonderfully restored vaulted ceilings.
Baby Max had great fun exploring the lovely garden and olive grove, chasing the neighbours playful kittens who often came to visit us! We visited many of the surrounding towns and ventured down to the coast, everywhere is so accessible from Trullo Bellissimo, it is brilliantly located and hard to get lost, as we cruised about in our little retro Italian hire car (recommended for that authentic Italian driving experience). Moira has done a great job in putting together an information pack with some very good suggestions of places to eat and towns to visit...... although it is very hard to find fault with anything about the surrounding areas and I am sure any visitors would get great pleasure in their own explorations or adventures.
The area has some great food and wine to offer, as we discovered and even the local shops and supermarket have an abundance of fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, cured meats and cheeses . The kitchen at the Trullo is well equipped for 'cooking in' and the outside kitchen area a real bonus - with loads of fresh herbs growing in the garden to use as well as fruit and vegetables that Moria said we could help ourselves to.
We had a great time and would recommend to anyone, I am sure we will be back.

Well - the picture is not only a true likeness, but underestimates the beauty and tranquillity that you find at Trullo Bellissimo. We had a wonderful two weeks in late August, where the festivals in Ostuni and sorties out to the hill towns and beaches, enhanced the break.

Ideal place for Italy lovers used to visiting Tuscany and Umbria, to discover the South of Italy. It is really the place to discover this authentic and beautiful area. The fantastic weather and the rich soil together with the nearby sea, delivers the perfect ingredients for a glorious dinner in this lovely trulli. Wonderful week in Puglia:
We stayed at this fabulous trullo for a week in July/early Aug & had an absolutely fantastic holiday. The property lived up to our expectations from the photos we had viewed online. We were shown around the property upon arrival & welcomed with freshly baked bread, local wine & home made fig jam & aubergine relish & sweets for the kids (amongst other goodies). The trullo was extremely well equipped & furnished in a unique style. The time & love that the owners have put into renovating & equipping the trullo is evident everywhere. The gardens are beautiful & there are several areas to relax, sit or eat in. The swimming pool was well used during our week. To be honest you could quite easily spend your entire holiday relaxing in the beautiful surroundings & not leave the trullo. However should you venture out, there are numerous places to visit on your doorstep, whatever your preferences are for spending your time. Only a few miles away is the stunning city of Ostuni - easy to drive to & easy to get around & explore on foot. In the other direction is the town of Cisternino - (our families favourite). There are numerous good restaurants here where you can eat very well & very reasonably. A great place to have a morning cappuccino & pastry & watch the world go by. There are many local markets to wander around & many beaches to choose from. This is our families favourite part of Italy, the people here are genuinely friendly & welcoming. We would not hesitate to recommend this trullo to anyone who wants to stay in a unique & five star environment.

Thank you, Moira & Keith, for offering such a beautiful and well equipped villa. The work you have done is some achievement, and you must find it hard not keeping it for yourself for most of the summer!

Truly Figilicious!
What a wonderful introduction to this fabulous region! Great house, pool fantastic beaches, very close to some wonderful towns and cities (Lecce) all very atmospheric. We had a very relaxing time and our three children were in heaven. No that's a mistake, we all were! Excellent attention to detail by the extremely friendly and helpful owners (Moira and Keith) and staff and to top it all the friendliest cat you could hope to meet, sweet Valentino - 5 stars from all of us.

Verified Homeowner
Why is Lupain Holiday Rentals the only holiday rental company to verify the ownership of holiday accommodation? Research has shown that not all advertisers are genuine. There have been cases where people have booked holiday accommodation only to find out it does not exist.
This sort of ‘scam’ is hard to comprehend but these days fraudsters are coming up with ever more imaginative ways of obtaining money by deception from innocent people like you. We do not want holidaymakers who book with us to fall victim to this type of scheme. Money is mostly hard earned we know, so taking a holiday is usually a major expense. In addition, we do not want you to remember us for a shattered dream.
Therefore, in order to protect you we have introduced our Owner Verification Scheme. We ask all holiday home advertisers to submit proof that they own the property they are advertising. Only when we are satisfied that an advertiser and their property is genuine do we add our Green Shield to their property advert. Apart from being a deterrent, it also encourages advertisers to make sure they verify their property, giving you peace of mind when you make your booking.
If you want to make a booking look for the Green Shield on the top right of the property advert, if you do not see our Green Shield it may mean we have not yet completed the verification process. We normally complete this process within a few days if no verification is forthcoming the advert is removed.
We take this Owner Verification Scheme very seriously for your protection. If you have any doubts about the validity of an advert or misrepresentation please contact us with your concerns.
Please note, Lupain Holiday Rentals does not verify the advertisement content placed on this website by property owners, nor do we offer any guarantee as to the correctness of the advertising information placed on this website by third parties.
